Sunshine Alliance Cabinets & Millwork (hereinafter referred to as “Sunshine Alliance”) offers a Limited Warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. This warranty is valid for 1 year from the date of delivery. It applies to the original purchaser who resides in the residential structure where the cabinetry was initially installed.

2. Non-Transferability

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. It does not extend to subsequent homeowners or any other parties.

3. Warranty Claims and Process

To initiate a warranty claim, the original purchaser must email info@alliancewoodworking.com with a detailed description of the defect and accompanying photographs. Claims must be submitted within the one-year warranty period. Sunshine Alliance will review the claim within a 72-hour period (three business days) and determine whether to repair or replace the defective product.

4. Remedies and Limitations

Sunshine Alliance reserves the right to decide if a product is repairable or replaceable. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts only. Sunshine Alliance will not cover costs associated with labor, installation, touch-ups, or any other expenses related to the replacement of products, except those explicitly included in the original scope of work. These costs are the responsibility of the claimant.

5. Shipping and Handling

If a warranty claim is approved, Sunshine Alliance will cover all shipping and handling fees associated with the replacement of defective products.

6. Disclaimers of Warranties

Cabinets are crafted from natural wood, which may exhibit variations in texture, color, or grain over time. These natural changes are not considered defects and are not covered by this warranty. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Color and Grain Variations: Due to the natural characteristics of wood, color and grain may vary. Wood samples may not reflect the exact color, grain, or finish of the final delivered product. Variations are inherent to wood and not covered under this warranty.
  • Paint, Stain, Laminate, Melamine, and Thermofoil Samples: These finishes are subject to discoloration over time due to aging. Such changes are not considered defects.
  • Hardwoods and Veneers: Selected hardwoods and veneers may produce variance in stain color.
  • Color Variations: Variations in color can occur due to mineral streaks, wood density, and grain patterns. Two-step wood doors or products with glazed finishing may exhibit greater color variation. Buyers requesting such finishes acknowledge the antique or aged appearance these finishes provide.
  • Five Piece Doors and Drawer Fronts: Hardwood Shaker doors and drawer fronts, whether painted or stained, may develop hairline cracks over time at the joints due to their multi-piece construction. These hairline cracks are a natural result of usage and are not considered defects under the warranty.

7. Important Care Notes

To ensure the longevity and proper maintenance of your cabinetry, please adhere to the following care instructions:

  • Allow Bonding Time: After installation, do not bear any weight on the furniture for about 24 hours to allow the products to bond completely.
  • Monitor Humidity: Pay special attention to areas around the sink, oven, and skirting boards, which are more prone to humidity.
  • Immediate Drying: Dry any liquid spilled on the furniture immediately to prevent damage.
  • Handle Doors Carefully: Fully open doors and avoid hitting them or leaving them ajar to prevent collision with drawers and potential coating damage.
  • Protect from Sunlight: Keep furniture away from direct sunlight to prevent yellowing and reduced durability. Use blinds, curtains, or protective films.
  • Lift, Don’t Drag: Lift objects when moving them on furniture for cleaning to avoid scratching the coatings.
  • Avoid Excessive Weight: Do not place excessive weight on the furniture or stand on doors, which can lead to warping, maladjustment, or breakage.
  • Avoid Using Drawers as Stairs: Ensure children do not use open drawers to climb, which can cause damage.
  • Prevent Moisture Damage: Do not place wet or moist towels over doors. Moisture can cause permanent damage over time.
  • Use Heat Protection: Avoid placing heated pans or utensils directly on counter surfaces. Always use protective devices.
  • Use Cutting Boards: Never cut food directly on counter surfaces; use supports to prevent damage.
  • Avoid Sharp Objects: Do not use utility knives or other sharp objects on surfaces to avoid scratching.
  • Protect from Ink: Prevent ink contact with coatings; use pen holders and protection barriers.
