Design Tips for A Small Bathroom to Make A Big Difference
Design Tips for A Small Bathroom to Make A Big Difference
First and foremost, when it comes to remodeling a bathroom, (especially a smaller bathroom) there are tips that the inner interior designer in you will be grateful and relieved to know. Here we are going to provide you with 4 foundation tips, to add pop and pizza to even the smallest of bathrooms. Here we will elaborate on how to maximize tiny spaces, and how to really draw out the personality of a room, yes, even bathrooms can have “personality.”
How to Design Your Bathroom
A well dressed and well composed small bathroom can really be the cohesion you need to tie your entire house together, especially if everything else has been renovated or updated. We can’t just leave out the bathroom because it is “too small” to do anything special with. A unique touch can always be added, somehow, someway. Small spaces need love too, since they are so often overlooked.
- Adding a vanity to a small bathroom seems like an impossible feat, but in fact, that is actually not the case nowadays. Vanity’s now come in an array of designs, shapes, and sizes, especially when being custom made. Opt for a smaller vanity when rejuvenating a small bathroom, so the bathroom can still remain very full of character, but not draw the attention away from all the other optimized space. We want everything to flow well, since there is not a whole lot of space to make things “flow” in general.
- Keep it cornered, in many instances, less, is more. In interior design, if we keep things “cornered” it provides extra inches and allows for creation of unique idea solutions.
- Adjust; Keep as much off the floor as possible, keeping objects in a small bathroom, on the ground is not optimum for aesthetic pleasure. It causes the eye to notice “clutter” and “disorganization” That is the opposite of what we are going for here. Taking objects off the ground like bathroom wall cabinets, and instead switching to shelving and a mirrored medicine cabinet will help avoid unnecessary bending and clutter, everything will now be at a comfortable height, (eye level) which causes the dimensions to appear greater than they actually are.
- Stick with solid colors the reason for this tip, is because when we put intense patterns on a wall, that isn’t very large, it is very consuming to the eye. When we switch to more natural, mellow, light tones, it gives the bathroom a more spacious feel, adding to the feeling of their being “more square footage” Play around with textures as opposed to colors instead.
Even though these 4 tips are only a small piece of saving grace in the world of interior design; use them whenever it is necessary and get creative with them, don’t be afraid to put some character into your projects, A home is an extension of one’s self.
