11 Kitchen Organization Inserts

Is your kitchen as organized as you would like it to be? There are many different inserts that can assist you in making your kitchen clutter free.

Now a day who has the time to keep organizing your kitchen on a weekly basis? The worst is the pesky cooking utensil drawer, where you throw everything in, and just can’t seem to find the Ladle, spatula, or skimmer when you need it.  I know the feeling my wife use to go through it almost every time she was cooking. Well you no longer have to deal with that any more.  Here are 11 kitchen Organization inserts which made cooking so much more pleasurable.

Utensil Drawer Organization Insert

Utensil Drawer - After Organizer Insert - Alliance Cabinets & Millwork IncThis is probably the most used of all. It helps organize all of your utensils.  This way your forks are all sorted and won’t get mixed up with you knives and spoons. We have come a long way from the inexpensive plastic inserts that where the only option 10-15 years ago. Most kitchen cabinet makers now offer a wide variety of different drawer insert options.  Some cabinet makers even add a second layer into on drawer so you can have your cooking utensils and regular utensils in the same drawer.  When organizing your utensil drawer don’t limit yourself to the store brought plastic inserts, search online and you can find many different inserts to choose from.  Most of which will give you more organization at an affordable price. Spice Racks Kitchen Organization Inserts

Nothing is worse than having to remove all the spices from a cabinet to get to the small steak rub you need for that perfect BBQ. I know it because I always had to do this. Since the less used spices always seem to get stuck all the way in the back of your spice cabinet.  Not every kitchen can fit a full pullout Spice rack, especial when you live in a condo or small house.  There’s no reason not to get a Spice rack in a drawer though. Or even a rack that hangs on the back of a cabinet door.  Of course the two mentioned above won’t give you as much space as a full roll-out spice rack, they will help you organize and maintain all your spices in easy reach when needed.

Lazy Susan’s

  1. Alright everyone knows about the pie shaped lazy Susan that offers functionality, but at no means utilizes all the available space in your cabinet.  I stumbled on the Korner King when one of my designers mentioned she had seen it and wanted to try it out.  Most defiantly I was surprised by how well this insert worked.  It takes up all the space in the corner cabinet and has so many different storage areas. What can I say? It is new to the market not many cabinet makers know about and I can’t understand why. The full best version of this insert comes with three drawers and three racks to either side.   It is probably one of the coolest insert I have used in a while.  You will definitely have full use of your cabinet space and all in an organized layout.
  2. Then there is always the regular lazy Susan which will come in white, beige, wire frame and wooden.  These are still the most used in all kitchen cabinet making.  Yes they will help you keep organized, but not nearly as much as the Korner king.
  3. If you have a blind corner cabinet with just a half shelf then there is the half lazy Susan which will help organize the hard to bet area in the back of the cabinet.  This lazy Susan’s are extremely helpful and will go a long way when organizing the hard to reach areas.

Pantry Organization Inserts

If you have a pantry most likely your kitchen has lots of space. Most of the time that translates to lots of food, cans, spices and cook ware that needs to be organized. Luckily there are many different inserts that you can use in a pantry cabinet.

  1. Most kitchen pantry cabinets only come with shelves. These are probably the cheapest way out for most cabinet makers and offers limited organization. With these you can put roll out wire baskets and wire tray dividers which will help.
  2. Custom roll out trays and drawers. With this these type of inserts you get more organization because now you can pullout the drawer and have a full view of what is in the back without having to remove everything that is in front. This is the case when you have shelves.  With rollout drawers you can add a spice rack and now you are using two different kitchen organization inserts at the same time.
  3. Hafele Full extension pantry pull-out is a new cool way to organize your pantry. This system offers a full extension frame which will give you access to all of your stored food or cooking utensils. This can fit into cabinets that range from 12” to 24” wide. There is no need to have large pantries. This leaves more counter space to work on.  The system can hold over  300 lbs of weight. It is a very clean and easy way to organize your pantry.  I have used this in many of my kitchen remodel and all my customers enjoy how easy it is to operate.
